Gears of War is one of my all time favourite games over the years. To me it is a classic, and a childhood game (even if I shouldn't have been playing it...). The game is pretty simple honestly. Shooting Monsters in the face is what this game is about, with a neat cover system, iconic enemies and unique weapons. So here's a little bit about the story.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Gears of War takes place on an alternative to Earth, called Sera. After a huge war, two Human factions battling it out, a new threat emerges (literally) forcing Humanity to unite against it. This threat is known as The Locust Horde. The Locust are a seemingly infinite army of Monsters. Though most are humanoid, wielding weapons, there are still their fair share of proper monsters and creatures. The Human - Locust war would wage on for roughly 15 years, before Humanity finally managed to "Put them down for good". This meant they'd have to sacrifice their last refuge, sinking the City, flooding the Locust's Home/Base. However, the planet's fuel source (Imulsion), was a parasite all these years. It had already infected the majority of the Locust Population (Though the Locust were seemingly dead). The recent events allowed the Imulsion into the sea, the parasite creating the new threat known as "The Lambent". However, the Locust were still alive, though weakened. They rebuilt their new homes on Land. (This is as far as I go, though I skipped a game, it's up to you to find out the rest).
Gears of War's Enemies are probably what I like most, aside from the gameplay.
From a Locust Drone
To a Corpser
Yes sir, this game sure has it's variety of enemies. I don't fancy going down to actual gameplay, though here is a few things I like.
-Deep Story, for a shooter.
-Campaigns are great, characters are also great.
-Actual gameplay never seems to get old, with new additions each game, and a huge armory of weapons to choose from.
And a lot more. I HIGHLY suggest you check out these games if you haven't already, hope you enjoyed.
